The agenda of 2023 ICCM Best Thesis Award

Qualification
This program is open to all undergraduate, master and PhD
mathematics students of Chinese descendants, anywhere in the world.
The submitted thesis must be successfully defended and accepted
by the students’ college/university between 2022 and 2023. Students have to
prepare to provide proof of defense of thesis.
The topics of theses can be pure mathematics, applied
mathematics, probability and statistics, biomathematics, etc.
Application (June 16- October
15)
Each candidate should fill in the application form online and
upload the thesis on the webpage of (www.yau-bta.com). Everyone should ask a
senior mathematician (e.g. thesis or post-doc advisor) to send a letter of
recommendation on their behalves.
PS: If you have applied for a position to Tsinghua University
through MathJobs, you do not need to provide a letter of recommendation for
ICCM Best Thesis Award.
Nomination (June 16- October
15)
Senior mathematicians (e.g. professors and associate professors)
may nominate recent degree candidates to this award program. To nominate,
please online account nomination, and send the recommendation letter on the
webpage of ICCM Best Thesis Award (www.yau-bta.com).

Selection (October 16-
November 30)
All submissions are subjected to two rounds of review: A
scientific committee, and then an international committee chaired by Professor
Shing-Tung Yau. Members of these committees are all world-renowned
mathematicians. The results will be announced around Mid-December, 2023.
The Awards
The selection of ICCM Best Thesis Award is conducted once a year, but the Ceremony is held every three years. The Ceremony 2025 aims to award the winner of ICCM Best Thesis Award 2023, 2024 and 2025. The awardees have to be present at the ICCM Best Thesis Award ceremony to claim the cash prize and to retain the title of an award.
